This sounds a bit mixed up, the 3 yellow connection ECU does indeed sound like a 97/98 ECU but the Series McRae were MY96s which have the earlier ECU.

Can you get a photo, have you had the lid off the ECU to check what's inside?

I think it is for a 96 car, where does it mention 3 connectors?

Andrew,

It also had something like "Unleaded 98 Ron only" on the sticker and it was sealed with one of them silver tamperproof label things

I was also thinking it's for a my96 Series Mcrae but i'm sure i have seen an my97 Series Mcrae. I don't want to waste the money buying it and it not fit my car which is an my98 UK

Would it do any harm to my car if I just tried to plug it in? at least i'd know then if it would physically fit.

Cheers

George

Well if it's for a 96 the connectors are different, 4 plugs instead of 3 for 97/98 ECU.

Wink

Hi,

The ECU has 4 connectors, so it must be for an older car, Just have to keep looking I suppose, thanks to everyone who replied

Hi,

Been to look at an ECU and was wondering what car it is for? it has the following markings...

ECU No. RP33
Rom 27544
A P Plate Registration Number
Series McRae No. (Blank)

It has a big Prodrive sticker on the case which has the above on it, and a blue label on the yellow connectors which reads 000 D08

Hopefully this is a Prodrive ECU for an MY97/98 UK car, any help would be appreciated,

Thanks

George

I've got a MY96 with Prodrive PPP ECU.

The Rom is labeled 27544 - this should would work with phase1 pre MY97 ECUs.

Chris

{Edited to add}

This is not compatible with the 97-98 ECU Scoobies.
