I could be looking at getting one for my STi V5 prior to ecutek remap. It helps them to know if MAF is working as it should so i believe.
I dont know much at all about them and was wondering if some helpful fellow scooby netter could shed any light on them please?

All it does is say if you've got the right mixture or not. Its either too lean or rich. Lean means more likely it'll go bang.

You cant actually regulate anything with them? Do they have to be set up for the car or do they know automatically if the mixture is too lean or rich?

You need an AFR regulator to over-ride the ECU control of the mixture.
AFRs are usually pre-calibrated to suit the car.

hope this helps.

The AFR is display so that YOU know the MAF sensor is OK. I can tell from the laptop. A better investment would be a knocklink I reckon. This would also warn you quickly of possible consequences of MAF failure.

All I have in my car is a Knocklink and a boost gauge.

Just fitted a knocklink, AFR might wait then, although it would be handy as i dont have the facilities and knowledge to do it using a laptop.
