Considered a larger top mount intercooler,
and although they apparently work well

It's "heat soak". When you stop moving - in a jam or at traffic lights etc - the heat from the exhaust, turbo etc rises into the intercooler. This heats the intercooler up and therefore it doesn't intercool so much as "interwarms". Warm air equals knock ("det"), so the ECU backs off timing and/or boost - so you loose power. Once you're moving, the airflow through the bonnet scoop cools the intercooler down and it works well again.
Spraying cold water onto the intercooler just before you pull away will drop it's temperature and so has to help.

Hades you old rascal,
You get everywhere mate, and seem to know everything !!!
Does that mean that the standard intercooler suffers heat sink also? Must do I spose... so not really an issue or???
Read about your porting and up-pipe - flexible or fixed up-pipe?
I reckon your setting yourself up for a remap too ?????
Will be in touch at some time and would love to see, hear, ride in your motor, seem to have got over busy agaain!!!

It's still called Heat Soak though
A Heatsink (noun) is basically a lump of metal used to dissipate heat from a source i.e. you computers processor has a dirty great big heatsink sitting on it.

Yes, I get everywhere! Don't even nearly know everything, though - there's plenty on here who know lots more than me.
Any top mount can encounter heat soak, no different with the standard one.
My up-pipe is a fixed stainless one (scoobysport). I have seen pictures of the new APS one with a sleeved flex joint, the rest is cast with a fancy taper, and it does look the tops. Due out in February, but I didn't have the patience! Ported headers will probably suit you as it makes things quieter on gentle throttles as well as quicker. Will mail you when I've updated the spreadsheet.
And yes, re-map will be on the way at some point, hopefully in the next few weeks.
