Full decat on my car now , including downpipe. It doesnt seem to idle aswell now as it used to ie the idle speed has dropped right down. I have a Blitz NUR Spec exhaust system with a , unknown dp could be Scoobysport/tsl , Blitz Induction kit also. So why has the idle speed dropped , and can the idle speed just be increased?

The idle can be increased using a Select Monitor or Deltadash. Not sure if the decat would give idling problems on it's own, but it's worth checking the O2 sensor and MAF readings to be safe.

Who fitted the downpipe? They would have to remove and refit the O2 sensor, so it's possible that it could have been damaged. Unlikely, but it's one possibility.

The downpipe was fitted by an Independant scooby specialiist in the NE of Scotland

Question

Are you going down to Star on Saturday?

I'd ask a Dealer or the specialist to check the O2 and MAF voltages on a Select Monitor.

My idle was rough, but the O2 sensor was knackered and had a new one fitted with my new downpipe (OEM catted one before). Idle isn't perfect even now, but John Banks checked my car a while back and the sensors were working OK.

Thumbs up

ozzy - cheers mate

The car is still idiling really low when coming to a halt at a junction etc when the clutch is depressed. The idle drops right back and then springs back to about 800/900rpm.

Any ideas???
