Just to add most battery chargers instruction (rather than trickle chargers) recommend the removal of the battery. I know I went everywhere to try and find one that I didnt have to remove the battery.

I know this a bit of a dumb question, but can the battery on the scooby be charged while still connected up, as i know on some cars they can others need to be disconnected, and cannot find anything in the book.
plus does alram go off on P1 if the battery is disconnected?

I have a trickle charger for mine which I brought from Halfords made by DRAPER and cost about £19. I use it all the time and teh battery is still connected to the car as it only put a small amount in (few hundred milliamps IIRC) and is designed to do this.
It is basically a transformer with two long cables (red and black) coming out with two crocodile clips on. You hook it onto the terminals and then plug it in. I tend to not plug it on straight after a journey as the engine bay is very hot and do it the next day. I did have battery issues but not has a problem since. A friend of mine has a classic porsche and he had the same problem and its fixed his as well. His battery took about a week to fully discharge, now theres no problem.
I also know quite a few biking mates who have these as they tend to use them only at weekends.
