Question

this is probably a question for john banks.

ive temporarily removed the dawes MBC (since friday) and replaced it with the OEM tubing that goes between the actuator and the inlet manifold and couples off to the boost solenoid.

All the tubes are firmly connected and i'm pretty sure ive put the tubing the right way around ( restrictor closest to the inlet manifold).

the problem is this:

every now and again, when im driving in 5th at say 70ish (2000 - 2500 rpm) if i put my foot down, as the tacho needle rises to about 3000 rpm i get a hesitant loss of power (almost like fuel cut, but not so violent) for about a second, then the power is back on.

like i say it doesnt happen all the time, just now and again.

is it something to do with ECU (std BTW), do i need to do a reset because ive removed the dawes or is it something more complicated?

I cant check the boost just yet as i have temporarily removed my boost gauge (hence removing the dawes also), but ill have a new gauge tomorrow so i can check then.

the car is a UK MY98 with the following engine mods:

Full decat
Blitz SUS induction
Forge VTA BOV

can anyone provide an answer, and could you please put it in plain english, as im not that mechanically minded.

Unhappy

Check your plugs mate.
I had slight hesitancy between 60-80mph, which was cured once I changed them over.

Need to know your boost to comment really. The tubing goes from the compressor outlet (curved piece) via a T-piece to the actuator. The branch from the T-piece goes to the solenoid in the wing.
