Few upgrades, advice please
I was thinking of putting on a scoobysport back box and possibly some other kind of induction kit (havent a clue), what would be a good induction kit to have bearing in mind I dont want to go mad and in future all i'll probably do is PPP or TEK.
Also can someone tell me what this Decat is all about, am I right in thinkin that my MY99 will have 2 and that one can be removed to increase power yet still pass emmisions tests?

Induction kit - the safest (for the MAF, by popular consensus
), easiest to get hold of (and I think cheapest
) is the K&N induction kit.
As for cats, yup, you have 2
and with just one, you will get through an MOT if it's the downpipe one, and may if it's the centre. You won't with none (suprise suprise) but can borrow/rent a center one from at least 2 places near London which will allow you to pass. The DP makes the big difference, the center much less so.

So what you're saying is that if I remove the downpipe and put in a better one without a cat it'll be much better but wont pass emissions and decatting the centre pipe will make a difference by a little but still pass the mot.
Also I had a K&N cone on my fiesta, what form does the K&N kit take for the subaru, I notice that the existing induction seems to come from a box on the left hand side of the engine bay which seems to disappear into the wing.

Take it all apart and put it all back together again....thats how the army teach people.
OR, have a look through the 4 million posts (&pics) on induction kits.
In fact there is a lot on the pros and cons of removing the resonator (the bit in the wing).
Be careful of Pipercross on a '98,'99 and '00....the MAF doesnt like 'em!
Regards.

Just to put you in the picture....Haynes dont do a manual, allegedly, they would only produce a manual if they could sell iro 10,000 copies!
Reckon you will have to obtain your info from here as I do
(and through experience of course).
Good luck.

UHF - I've de-catted both on my WRX 95 and its wicked. As for doing the de-cat, get your original d/p that the garage would take off and keep hold of it for MOT time. Its easier than having to track down a garage that holds one for the test
PS - Manuals for a scooby, be serious........ don't be scared, the only way a scooby will bite you is if you go f@ck up engine parts and play with important bits. May the force be with you.......
