Default Engine goes to die with any throttle use.....

So here we go big story so I have a 95 import impreza have been using it since April no issues a few weeks ago after coming home after a long day out in the car I parked up and I couldn't hear a knocking sounds I could literally feel it by touching the inlet manifold switched it off and waited till the next day where I stated the car up and nothing ideas fine and no knocking hot or cold nothing decided to go out in the car after about an hour or so the car start bogging down wouldn't go over 3k rpm and had to keep dropping down a gear to get moving had to stop for a car to pass and bang engine died. Got recovered home and car started fine but any throttle would bog the car down and kill the car, if the tps was unplugged I could just about get the revs up again but not like normal changed the tps checked the voltage ect still no luck I carried out a smoke test on the car for vac leaks ect nothing major no issues to cause problems with the engine I've ran out of ideas now and am struggling to find the cause of this issues any help would be appreciated as next step is sending the car off and spending big money to get to the bottom of this so please any help would be great cheers 😁 note the knocking that I heard never came back wasn't heard of again but may still be a cause of the issue.
