Default Too loud! 2015 WRX STI

Evening all, picked up my new car yesterday. It’s had a few mods, Invidia R400 cat back system and Invidia decat to name a few. It’s too loud though. Would adding a sports cat help reduce the noise, or am I going a bit off track?
cheers 👍

It would help a bit, but it's an expensive way of finding that the cat back is too loud anyway

Thanks mate, as I thought. From reading up the R400 seems to be one of the loudest systems available 😔

The Q300 is the one to go for if you have things like a decat, headers etc.

Yes, much quieter. My 2015 STI is 583bhp and runs stainless headers and a decat, both of which add to the volume of the exhaust. The R400 is had was unbearable and so much drone. The Q300 is the same exhaust but with proper back boxes and cuts the noise down loads. It’s not quiet, it’s just the right level for me, and drone is completely gone.

I’ve got a guy near me I used years ago, builds custom exhausts etc. May be worth a visit to him to see if he can add a silencer to this current system to save quite an expense?

I’ve only got a miltek cat back on mine currently and that’s quite loud have been looking at decat downpipes but might go sports cat to try and keep the noise about the same

I had my car on tick over today for an hour as battery is low as not driven for ages , on cold start I could hear the car from 60 feet away sat in a 2021 Valtra 160hp tractor with everything closed !!! Lol , and the sound proofing is so good in these tractors that you can hardly hear the engine of the tractor ! It is loud !
