i have a afterburner r cat back on my 00 turbo. i know that 2 get the best out of it i have 2 full de cat or fit a sports cat. the thing is though its quite loud at the moment and i dont really want it any louder. will either of these mods effect the noise! also will i get better gain with the de cat dp. or is a sports cat just the same! thanks...

 

yes louder.. sports cat will rob a little but not much power..

Mine is very noisy so much so that i'm thinking of changin g the set up in the future.

Yep. I'd suggest you get the centre pipe resonated to avoid drone in the cabin.

i run a center resonator pipe with an otherwise decatted system.... swapped the resonator for a cat pipe for the mot and it was louder........ go figure

 

Sports Cat won't make what you have any louder, will improve it IMHO. I had the H&S identical set up to the After burner on MY03 WRX and it made the sound more complete/rich.
