Default 6 speed non DCCD gearbox oil?

Hi guys I know this has probably been done to death but can’t seem to find any conclusive info. I have a non DCCD jdm 6 speed in my GC8 and I keep getting slight smell of gear oil entering the cabin. I’ve checked a dozen times now on the ramps in work and can’t find a single leak from anywhere so I was going to change the oil again. Can anyone recommend decent gear oil and also shed some light on front diff oil? According to the part number I have a rare bug eye STI RA gearbox with suretrac front diff. Part no. TY856WB1CA. Is this a separate diff oil or is it shared with the normal fluid? Also what is the actual filling capacity? I do get an ever so slight crunch at high RPM when changing from 4th to 5th, I did some reading and found redline shockproof lightweight might be a good oil to run until I get the box rebuilt properly. Anyone have any pointers? Thanks In advance

Not that rare

MY02 UK WRX STI 6MT gearbox info pdf attached - same box just different ratios. Also fitted with Suretrack.

Front diff and box share the same oil but has two drain plugs due to layout.

Ahh okay, I’m pretty sure when I first serviced the gearbox it only had the one drain plug though. Looks like some of the later boxes have the 12mm drain and the t70 torx one or something like that?

Also, I noticed the PDF you attached says to use GL5. I was under the assumption I needed to use LS oil for the front diff is that correct? There’s two options for the motul and fucsh I was looking at 😬

No LS oil required as it would messup the syncros in the box.

Ahh okay. Reading that then it looks like the LS stuff is for plated type stuff rather than helical like mine. Think I’ll do another oil change then
