Tried to capure the sound from inside and outside ..... any advice? Outside the car form 50 sec onwards....


Inside the car it seems to be coming from the glove compartment side...

Check your plugs are tight and look for exhaust leaks. Doesn't sound like rod knock to me.

I had a fairly similar noise on my jdm hatch, and as Joe says, it was a loose plug.

Might be my phone, but to me it sounds like the injectors? Both my subarus have made a similar noise (maybe not quite as loud, but then it might just be the phone I’m listening on)

Sounds like the fuel dampers pulsating to me,located on the fuel lines near the N/S/F suspension turret.

I checked the plugs they are tight, it sounds different on the phone than in real life though a lot worse on the phone I'll take it in for a check....

Mine sounds similar, iv been told my forged pistons are slapping a bit, it stops if you raise the runs a little

Update: had a full health check done by Rich at FB Tuning car is absolutely fine (it sounds different in the recording than in real life...) so that's that then..It's my first Suaru so just not used to the boxer noise I guess..
