Default Tap and die sets

Looking for a decent tap and die set for running through all the captive nuts and down all the bolts of my project car.

If I can save bolts I want to do that and get them zinc plated.

Any recommendations?

Cheers in advance.

I've got the Sealey AK3040 set. Decent quality but I've still found myself needing to buy some individual taps and dies for the thread pitches Subaru has used in some places. I also bought a ratcheting tap handle which is so much better than the non ratcheting type especially for just running through dirty threads.

Thanks for the reply.

Hmmm, that is the set I was looking at bud. Can you remember the other size that you had to buy and where from?

Cheers.
Dave.

Off the top of my head it was M10x1.00 (for brake stuff so not needed for most), M12x1.25 (very often used on Subaru) and M14x1.5. I also needed some non metric ones for a few things but not something most would need. I bought Connect Consumables taps and dies for most. Watch out for the dies as there are different sizes which need different handles.

You want a thread chaser kit, not a tap and die kit, when cleaning up nuts and bolts.
