Default power steering noisy at start up

Hi all,

I have a 2016 STI and I have noticed over the last couple of times I have used the car that the power steering pump is louder when you initially start the car. It goes quiet after a minute and still seems ok in use. I don't really use the car that much so wondering if this is a common failure sign or whether it's just down to lack of use. I only did roughly 750 miles between MOT's this year and car only just clocked 10,000 miles.

Thanks JP

Have you checked the power steering oil level? Always worth a check even on a low mile car.

Check belt tension and condition. Check pump for any leaks. Check fluid level and colour. If dark, replace.
