Hey lads I hope your all well and safe,
ive got a Subaru WRX 2.5 Hawkeye I’m looking for power of around 340/350bhp I got a VF43 turbo of a fellow member on here.

my question is will this STI intercooler fit my 2.5 Hawkeye as I know there a few different types

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254748698390

Thank you so much

Hiya pal,
I've a 2.5 Hawk running a VF48 (same size as the VF43), on the WRX top mount intercooler. The tmic is big enough for the turbo. Up grading to a full 3" exhaust will probably see you with better gains.
Thanks,
Gio

Thanks mate I’ve got the 3” exhaust fully de catted done I fort I would upgrade the intercooler and add the VF43 Turbo then get it mapped to 340/350bhp but if the WRX intercooler is capable of that then that’s fine.

The Hawkeye intercooler is different to the Bugeye and blobeye. You need one of a Hawkeye or newer 2.5 model like the Hatchback.

As far as I'm aware there's no difference. I've seen 2 WRX intercoolers one off Hawkeye and one of the Hatch and both the same.

Just to confirm they are the same, IPC sell them new, although should be plenty of used ones on ebay.

But isn't it true that having a different part number doesn't necessarily mean the part is different with Subaru. For example, JDM 2009 Spec C hatch shock part numbers are different from UK 2011 shock numbers, but the shock is exactly the same. Same for 2015 model.
I'm not suggesting that tmics are all the same, but Subaru do make it confusing.

A hatch WRX intercooler will not fit any other car except a hatch WRX - if you've even seen pictures of them you'll see why

Hatch STI intercooler is also bigger than a Hawk STI intercooler.

i was told if the part number is different then there are differences, even slight differences you might not even see them. id assume the damping on spec C shocks are different to uk shocks? but theyll both look identical in appearance?

another example 2010+ Saloon STI & 2014+ saloon STI use the same alloy bottom arms & have different part numbers - but if you look closely you see the rear bush has slightly longer sleeve on it for 2014+. so in theory they are still interchangeable as you could use 2014+ arms on a 2010+ if you switched the rear bush (which also is available direct from subaru under another part number)

The UK/European MY11 onwards has the same struts/shocks as the Revision "C" spec C rather than the Revision "B" version - both B &C versions were in production in 2009 (which is why for JDM it is better to quote the revision letter not the model year)

Part numbers: 20310FG580 & 20310FG590 (Front) and 20365FG510 (Rear) Springs are different though.
