Default Bugeye immobiliser - no crank no start

Hi

I've just bought a 2003 bugeye wagon - went to see it, car was parked ready for viewing, already at operating temperature and when the previous owner turned the key it started right up, took it for a test drive, bought it.

I had it trailered back to me, the previous owner drove it onto the trailer.

Tried starting it to get it off the trailer, no good. Pushed it off.

Since I've had it I haven't been able to get it to start, I followed the advice of the immobiliser card, to turn ignition on, press the fob then crank it but nothing happens other than the digital clock going out.

Put a new battery in the car and checked the fuses, no fuses out.

This is my dream car but it wont even start now and I'm gutted.

The car only unlocks with the key as there's no battery in the fob.

any help would be great.

thanks

tom

Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you switch the ignition on?

No I can't hear the classic hum from it priming, unless it's quiet in these. All I get is a click when I turn to ignition, then when I turn to crank the dash clock just goes out.

Cheers

The car starts if I manually (with keypad) arm and disarm the alarm...

You said in your first post that you had to push it off the trailer and haven't been able to drive it and no noise from the fuel pump.
Now it starts when you manually input with the immobiliser. I think you've answered your own question.

The fob needs a battery and probably "re-pairing to the alarm"

Download the operators manual and read page 16
Sigma M30 Alarm manual pdf

Brilliant thanks, I think I'll get the new battery in and pair them up tomorrow - I have the booklet with the manual so shall give it a go and report back. Thanks for your help, Tom

No one being arsey just stating facts of your post which only gave half the story. Very hard to help someone when you only get half the facts.
Then as said you answered your own question.

Reprogrammed the immobiliser fob (the one without the key attached) to the car using the keypad - starts every time now once immobilised.

Thanks for the help
