Default Subaru classic rear wheel stud

I've some how managed to strip a thread on my wheel stud on my 97 classic .Do I have to remove the hub completely to remove the stud or do they just knock straight out

They are pressed in / out you cant just knock them out.

best to remove hub and get it pressed out to refit the new one

when i did it, i just bought a new/2nd hand hub as was cheaper/easier

I thought taking the hub off didn't sound right
