Default What is this device inside my cubby?

Anyone know what this little box is for? It is located in the cubby that sits in front of the fuse box inside the car.

Car is a 2005 UK WRX STI

its a flux capacitor, dial in the year, press # and hit 88mph . . .

Interesting I didnt know you could turn on auto-lock (auto hijack on the impreza!)
