Default Bottom end refresh machining

Hi guys just quickly a mate has blown his engine, is it generally advised getting the bottom end machined when refreshing it in this situation, or for any refresh for that matter?

Thanks

If you are meaning getting the crank reground then the main opinion on here is NO!! As cleaning out the oil passages in the crank cannot be guaranteed and you remove the hardened surface that the bearings run on.

Yes,bore to next oversize so you start with fresh bores with no taper or ovality.
