Default Plugs?

Few months ago I changed the plugs in my uk 99 turbo. I had only got the car n heard of someone ik22 plugs were better for running higher boost. Over past few weeks I was getting misfire coming on boost then it would clear.

I'm now running, turbo back exhaust, fmic, hks bov, air filter, 255lph fuel pump. Since fitting fmic yesterday in getting real bad misfire coming on boost but now it won't go passed this misfire. Am I using the wrong plugs and is my issue?

Has it been mapped for those mods? If not I wouldn't bother chasing faults as the car won't stand a chance. It's doubtful you need different plugs at the level you are at.

Then all your mods will be making the car perform worse and potentially ruin the engine... You can't just fit different parts and hope it will work fine. Either get it mapped or put it back to standard. Or leave it and suffer poor running and problems until eventually the engine lets go.

Or pfr7b. Either should be fine with your mods.

right ive took the ik22 plugs out and replaced with new pfr6b plugs. im still getting 0.5bar by 3,000 rpm then its missing and wont go further still. can a maf of lambda sensor cause this? I need it perfect before I spend money getting it mapped.

also now when I stop n park the revs are going up n down and car dies sometimes

Head... Brick wall...

It will likely run like crap until you have it mapped! Not to mention if it runs lean say goodbye to your engine.

Your problem could be many things. People here are just having educated guesses. Follow them and it may work or you may spend a fortune on parts you didn't need which don't solve the issue.

Seek professional help. Who will likely tell you that your mods are not helping and tell you to remove or get a remap.

You are ruining your car.... Listen or don't listen.

I was talking to davys nephew ryan there and hes lending me a maf, he also said could be a dodgy fuel pressure regulator to maybe upgrade that too.

I know I will have to get a map, but I didn't see the point doing bits then map then more bits. I have fitted a fmic, hks bov, 255lph fuel pump and that's it. car already had a downpipe and exhaust on it when I got it.

if the maf tomorrow doesn't help I will put the standard tmic and bov back on.

I read up about unplugging the maf while the car running to check. I've disconnected it while car was running and it keeps running so that mean the maf is done?

You'd be better off running with the old plugs in too as your new ones will be shot by the time you map!

PFR6-B's are the wrong plugs with a decat anyway, you want 7-B's in there.

Finally the car threw up a code on Tuesday, 23 the maf. Got a new genuine one and plugged in, but the car has gone into limp mode. Engine light is on and car won't go past 3k. I Went to do the ecu reset using the plugs, when I switch ignition on to do the reset instead of engine light staying on it keeps flashing code 23 and I cant fully complete ecu reset. How do I get this done?

Already been answered a few times....

You have fitted mods that don't run right until mapped. You are causing your own problems. The more you screw around and the more you try to boost the more damage you are likely to do....
