Default HELP MISFIRE

hi guys can anybody help me. i have a classic subaru impreza 1994 with the closed deck engine running on a td05 turbo. it developes a misfire as soon as it gets warm which it does drive through but it gets that bad the car barely moves just splutters and jerks. the plugs have been changed and gapped correctly. i was wondering if it could be the map on the car (it was mapped quite a while ago) it also has a cold start issue where it turns over tries too start but then cuts out. but once it sees some temp it then starts ok. ive just ordered a temp sensor so hoping its that. i did also try the battery but with no luck.
PLease if anyone has any info it would be much appreciated.

Has it got an aftermarket ecu or was a piggyback board fitted when mapped?
If it has the esl board fitted I think I retains the self diagnostic feature. Have you checked for fault codes?

im actually unsure on that. i bought it mapped already but never actually checked what ecu is on it. would a ecu reset be any use depending on the ecu thats in there? not had it on diagnostics yet but i was hoping too get that done this week

You can do a self diagnostic with the plugs under steering column. To map a pre 98 then it must have a piggyback chip or a replacement ecu. Check to see if your self diagnostic works
