Default Need some more poppage.....

Me and the lad love abit of poppage from the exhaust. Puts a smile on his face whenever it does it.......and mine too.

Mapping in antilag would be nice but in reality I can afford to be replacing turbos.

Is Ot just exhaust and header mods that unleash the boom, through excess fueling? Currently I only have hks induction, forge recirc, and a decat back system, with a remap. Producing 330bhp at the fly. Not exactly sure what the decat consists of, of there's a pre cat and other pipes that can uprated post turbo?

Any advice?

Cheers

So I guess your running a VF35 then, just ask whoever mapped it to map pops in, or ask for a mild ALS.

any cats will be at risk though, do personally do it all right and get the car up towards 400bhp which will get you a large smile with full ALS

That the standard sti tubby bud? Think mine is yeah. Can they actually map pops in? Lol.

Where are the other cats think only my main one is removed? I've never looked? Perhaps upgrading the whole exhaust will help?

i've had a mild ALS mapped in by Andy Stevens. It can be mapped from mild to very aggressive depending on your need/requirements. I opted for a mild setting as the only reason i wanted it was for having a bit of fun from time to time, without doing any damage. EGT's won't go crazy with a mild ALS mapped in and it won't blow the baffles out - but Launch Control is the one you need to be careful with.

You also get a switch installed so you can flick it on/off at any time.

It has made the car a hell of lot more fun thats for sure

Exhaust Gas Temps.

Not entirely sure what you would require ECU wise for an 04 sti, but i'm sure others will be able to advise. i had to go ESL as mine had to have daughter board fitted being an early v3

All doable on standard Ecu.

But I'd consider the risks as mentioned earlier.

A car that we all know started life as a bright blue WRC icon with gold wheels and covered in bright yellow decals spitting flames.

You could say grow up to people who want more power.... Or people who want a car in a nice colour other then grey etc. Where do you draw the line between fun and needing the grow up?

Back on the original topic I have a MY00 remapped and decated and it pops and bangs nicely when hot on the over run. Wasn't asked for but just happened with the remap. The car has been fine for over six years like that.

can the pops and bangs be put on a separate map so as you don't have them constantly and only when you need to grow up?

I suppose it depends on purpose. For the OP I agree, but for track use definitely ALS.
