Default maf problem please help

Hi i think my maf is on its way out as it wont idle properly and somtimes cuts out. Its a uk turbo year 2000.
So i brought a non genuine of ebay part number 22794AA010 but it made the car run worse and would cut out when cold.
So i emailed him and he said that i needed part number 22680AA360 but from what i can make out thats for the complete housing aswell.
Im worrying a bit as i need the car daily for work.

A lot of people report problems with cheap ebay MAFs. The only way to be sure is to buy a genuine Subaru one.

However it may be something else like the idle control valve...

It might be a bit late, but have you tried cleaning your original maf, a cotton bud and some electrical contact cleaner does the trick, they are quite sensitive, and if dirty will give you rough running/idling problems.

This... The MAF on my V6 failed and I took the cheap but new eBay option. After that it would idle poorly, but not all the time. Hesitated on gear changes when pushing on and became impossible to heel and toe smoothly :-(

Bought a low mileage secondhand but genuine Subaru item and all my problems instantly went away. I had changed the idle control valve during all this as I didn't believe it could be the new MAF! Lesson learnt :-(

Not saying it isnt the MAF but the same symptoms can be brought on by a TPS or ICV issue as well

Throttle position sensor. Its a black plastic one that sits vertically on the nearside of the throttle body. Right near the ICV.
