Default fault code reader

hello all dont suppose anyone has a fault code reader for a ford??

basically drivign the fiesta home yesterday morning and felt like the engine went into safe mode. Looked on the dash and it said EAC FAIL.

turned the engine off then back on a couple of mins later and all seemed fine!!!!

anyway did a google search when i got home and the EAC fail could mean a few things, so i need to get the actual fault code off the car.

cheers

its a 53reg 1.4 zetec, and no mate. as soon as i turned it back on it went.

i'm not mechanic but after reading the responses on google it seemed to be along the lines of a problem with air flow sensor, so i went and listene to the engine and there does seem to be an excessive air flow noise, but maybe that's just me making it up!!! lol

as it has also been suggested it could be to do with the throttle sensor.

cheers

You're welcome to pop over to mine and hook it up to the scangauge. Will give you a fault code like before when we did your scoob. Will need the EML to be on though as not all codes are stored I have found

cheers guys.

doing a bit more research Stu, looks like a common problem and people have still been able to get the fault code even without the EML on.

so would you mind if i popped over and had a try?

Graham, thanks for the offer, but if stus ok will pop to his first and see if we can get it off his.

cheers
