Default Stars

Was in Wales a few weeks back miles away from anywhere and luckily had a cloudless night. Looked up and was astounded by the amount of visible stars due to lack of light pollution

Saw the milky way which I've never managed before.

dusty lens FTW !

Only joking, it's amazing what you can see away from the bright lights of the towns.

Always amazed by exactly the same thing everytime I go to north Wales Mountain biking. Truely an amazing site. Always wondered what it'd look like in the middle of the bush in Africa ??

I've been in the middle of the bush in Africa and don't actually remember it being as good as this night in Wales. It was during the meteor shower too so we just laid on the ground looking up for about an hour - amazing.

We spent a week on a boat on the great barrier reef for our honeymoon. At night you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. The stars were amazing, although couldn't recognise any constellation! I have an app on my iPhone called star walk which you hold up to the sky and it identifies the stars in the area, trouble with being so close to London is that there are about a thousand stars in the iPhone screen and only 10 in the actual sky.

I take our dogs for a walk last at night to a park at the top of our street, it leads down to the sea and away from the street lights so is pitch black in parts, on a clear night I can see millions of stars and the planets other things that may or may not be UFO's.

Saw something similar to this a few weeks ago down in the New Forest. An amazing sight.
