picked up my new scooby today
Hi chaps I picked up my new car today.
a 1998 WR prodrive.
this is much better than my 96 wrx i had, just feels a bit tighter. If i knew how to put a picture on here i would.
just one thing it boosts really well in all gears, at any speed. apart from 5th. if i am sitting at 60mph in 5th then put my foot down it boosts up ok but once the boost really kicks is it, there is what feels like a mis fire. i have tried it on all other gears but is fine through out, and ideas?
Also what are the best meets in Essex, is it a case of just turning up or do you have to formaly join a club?

Does this sound right? this is what the bloke has just sent me RE: my problem.
Can any one explain how to fix this?
all it is, when they fitted the de cat down pipe it has made the exhaust more free flowing, the guy said it will need a different sized restrictor put into the boost solenoid pipework to stop it spiking, anyone half sharp about subaru's will know exactly what to do as its a common thing. its not a mis fire, its the car hitting the fuel cut cos of over boost, should be a couple of quid for a restrictor

TBH it sounds very much like you car could do with a remap, with my first classic several different size restrictors where tried untill the ideal size was found, all part of the mapping process.

Welcome again basobomber (thought the name was familiar and after a quick check, welcomed you in June..... '07 )
See you on the 6th September for the next cruise?, mine will probably be the only green wagon there, now that you've jumped ship.

If not then I would try Simon - www.jollygreenmonster.co.uk, based in Kent, but is mobile, or take a trip up to Zen Performance.
And yes, you will get a performance increase, in fact it will prob transform how the car feels.
