Spally, don't worry mate (i know thats easier said than done).
But it's amazing how natural it all becomes once the baby in your arms is yours....
just be yourself and all will be OK

What you nervous about you just have to site and watch
Go for a drive and ask them to call you when it's nearly out... then pop back for the last five minutes, that's what I did with Eleanor
On a serious note, just chill out, and go with the flow, it'll all come good, when the babies ready to make an appearance

My boy was born 11 months ago.........its impossible to put in words what you feel, when you see your baby the first time.
PS.Prepare a few tissues as you will need it for sure

Then in addition to the crushed hand, having my parentage questioned, was told categorically that if I came near her again with that THING, she would cut it off!
So Paul, from my experience, don't worry, just do as your told and be supportive. We have the easy bit, as it appears that childbirth smarts just a little

I was present at the birth of my daughter, and as mentioned, you won't have time to be nervous, the feeling of anticipation takes over.
Just be there for Sarah, help her through it with moral support,
When my other half was in labour, we had constant worries about misscarriages, and she was admitted to hospital for a week because she was worrying so much and made herself exhausted. The threat of misscarrying was so great in our case, we didn't dare to come up with names until the baby was born. The baby was 2 weeks late and almost had to be induced.
It wasn't till about 11:00pm on a Thursday, after everything was over, and the baby given a clean bill of health by the midwives, that Julia suggested "Bethany".
At the time, I was working night shifts at Calor, I had called in at 4pm that afternoon to say Julia had gone into labour and I won't be in. The next day, I was in the town centre, getting some things as you do and bumped into the site supervisor, I told him we had a girl and called her Bethany, and his response was, "that's great, so you'll be in work tonight then" Tw@t, typical mentality of Calor, so I took a week off.

When baby arrives just do what you feel nobody has a handbook it's learning as you go i'm sure you'll both manage perfectly

LOL at some of those comments
Think Daren managed to be present for our first, Lilly, he had left the room to get "some air" (i think it was to nurse his broken & bitten hand) LOL, he returned just as she made her appearance.
Jess was induced and he didn't make it cause she was SO quick and with Reg coming in only 40 minutes - he didn't make that one either
But i was recently a birthing partner for a friend of mine - and I've got to say, its the most miraculous thing to see - totally amazing!
Good luck to the both of you - just make sure you support her - a nice cold flannel for her head (cause its bloody hot in those rooms) and let her scream and shout and swear at you - just don't say a word back.
