WARNING to scooby sellers!!!
I've decied to buy a type r, so i have to sell my car! I had a chap look at my sti on Monday, He liked the car and agreed to buy it. He dropped by my house the next day to drop off a bankers draft and pick the car up. I wouldnt release the car untill the draft had cleared. The bank called me today to tell me Draft was fake!!!!! They had even paid the funds into my account and withdrawn them!!! He was coming to pick the car up tonight!!!!! How lucky am i!!! So this is just a warning even bankers drafts can be cancelled, so they have to clear the same as a cheque.
Take care everyone and be careful, oh and by the way it happened to someone on the mlr too, but he had let the car go!

When I sold my first scoob, it was advertised in Auto Trader, and a guy Emailed me saying that his business partner would send me a bankers draft, to which he offered me £1000 extra for the car, the car was up for sale for £5500, all I had to do was to cash the £8500 bankers draft, withdraw and give him £1500 cash. Alarm bells were ringing, but after talking to Adidas, he confirmed it is a well known scam, you'll end up losing the car AND £1500 when the bank realises it was a stolen cheque.
Had exactly the same scam tried again when I was selling the GTI at the beginning of the year

I totally agree
with Phil that is,
as surely beating the thieving ****** would no doubt be infringing upon his human rights to be a thrieving scumbag,
so call the police and let them know that a thieving scumbag has tripped on the stairs and had a nasty fall, whilst trying to make his escape with your car and money!

A much better suggestion.

OMG!! That is bad!! I rarely let a car go unless it is cash, as I have heard about people selling horses, with the same out come... money being put into their bank, and then hours after the horse has been taken, the money is taken back some how!!
I will bare this in mind, as I am selling my car, which is a TYPE R by the way..... not far from you !!!
Good luck selling your car!!
