Default need help going mad

fitted new fmic yesterday on my type r.drove it round all night. then later on it started getting a rattle / tap at 1200 revs then nothing. still pulls fine. thing is can't here it with the bonnet up only in the car with the windows up !! as u can imagine im going mad so if anyone has any ideas it would be great. cheers

When was it last serviced?

Weird...

My only thought is that the fan is catching on the fmic pipework... But then you would here that with the bonnet up etc.. as long as the fan is turning.

U checked none of the pipe work or anything is touchin any of the bodywork and is viabrating on it just enough at those revs for u to hear it? would explain why u can hear it inside the car and not outside.
Just a thought.

don't no when it was last serviced. did the plugs a few weeks ago. there is a ticking near the air filter. but i don't no what all the electrical bits r?

that tickin would probably be your boost solenoid

If you don't know when it was last serviced, I'd highly recommend at least an oil and filter change to be on the safe side.
