could be the straw that broke the camels back...
since having my new scoob, have really looked after her. warming up cooling down etc havent really given her a real blat either.
However went to drive to work this morning and the orange engine management light has come on.
Have booked into xtreme to get this looked at, absolutely love the car to bits, but had enough of cars breaking down with my old one. So even if it's a minor issue, may well be putting the car up for sale very shortly.
But dont worry even if the car does go, i will still be hanging around

No probs, if Steve's software doesn't work for some reason give me a PM and I will pop over. It just pugs in under the steering wheel and reads the ecu stored codes. I have mine in all the time for the trip computer but it was useful when I overboosted and read the code for a quick mocom correction on the map

You BIG girl Paul!! My light comes on every now and then, it turns itself off after 4 or 5 starts, I have been told by 3 different reputable places (including Subaru themselves) that its the cam position sensor. It was changed twice under warrenty but still does it.
It only comes on when I'm doing a steady pace for a while. I was told it can be a combination of lots of things, such as the quality of fuel, the outside temperature, ECU glitch etc.. the cam position sensor seems to get itself in a muddle when doing a steady 50-60mph for a while, nothing to worry about what so ever, it's when the light starts to flash you need to stop and worry (says so in the Subaru handbook).
Believe me mate, it's done it since the day I picked it up and after 76K miles it still runs fine, so don't worry.
You can rag it to death and the light will never come on..........not that I have first hand experiance with that

Spally, do you want to postpone tomorrow mate?
Wilf's car had a similar problem, he brought itover as it wasn't boosting, found one of the intercooler jubilee clips had broken, anyway, I sorted it out and took it for a test drive with no problems then the check light came on, Wilf said it's done it a few times and all he does is to keep switching the ignition on and off to force an ECU reset, was fine after that

cheers for all the help guys.
Stu (wrx53) huge thanks for coming out to see me and finding out what the codes are.
Next question, what on earth do the codes mean:
P1091 Tumble generator valve #1 (RH) malfunction (stuck close)
P1092 Tumble generator valve #2 (LH) malfunction (stuck open)
P1095 Tumble generator valve circuit #1 (over current)
have no idea what the tumble generator is!!!
cheers

Glad the scan worked.
I did a quick search as I have no idea what a tumble valve is.
This must be an ask Frayz question
I did a quick search as I have no idea what a tumble valve is.
Tumble valves are an integral part of the manifold, optimising the air flow in the combustion chamber and ensuring a faster and more uniform distribution of the air fuel dispersal. This results in a faster burning speed and more efficient combustion. In turn, that supports significant improvements in the engine’s performance as well as lowering fuel consumption of the car
