Default Intro

Hi guys, i'm not Essex based but outskirts of Cambs so look forward to saying hello in due course at some meets.

I've a 53 Reg STI (Blobeye) in Silver, with a few bits done by previous owner and had it looked at this weekend by some friends etc then test drove a few other STI with similar mods.

It appears my car is crying out for a map.

Performance wise it's running 1.6 bar boost, (i've installed defi gauges and had a manual boost controller confirm this) has uprated Green Panel Filter, Uprated Fuel Pump, 2nd cat has been removed, got a new midpipe with the resinator and silencer removed and a 4" exhaust with no markings but looks like a Scoobybits exhaust.

So everything bar a decat downpipe / sports cat downpipe is there for it to be running some good power.

I've now learnt it's running much to high boost and the previous owner had the ECU flashed.

I'm looking to source a sports cat downpipe (is the Ninja one or Scoobybits one at £295 a good buy?) on a under £300 budget as i'm house moving 18th April and funds are very limited and then get a remap.

Any ideas on what sort of fly/wheel power I could see from above modifications and remap with sports cat downpipe? i'm hoping for around 330bhp @ fly, is that feasible or possible?

Also would you recommed Mocom? I've heard good things about Zak from them I believe it is?

And finally I heard rumours that ESC members get discount? I know thats cheeky so early into joining to ask but as I will be long-term ESC member and i'm skint i'm just trying to protect the pennies.

Cheers in advance and i'll whack a few pics up in due course.

Just a brief picture for now as I plan on having an arty photo session if we ever have good weather

Since having the car i've added the front V-Splitter, changed the gold wheels to the grey ones shown. fitted Defi gauges for boost, oil temp and oil pressure and a knock-link sensor, oven'd the headlights (de-tango'd) and bought myself a Bailey DV12 dumpvalve that I removed for now as wasn't sure on it.

Andy.

My better half is obsessed with pink can't I leave that to her to wear

I've got my 'Essex Scooby Crew' active supporter badge now so you guys/gals will be stuck with me for the next 12 months

On another note, I sited you lot yesterday at Donny Show on those lovely stone seats on the race track near the bridge. Was actually going to say hello but shy'd away ha. Assuming it was you guys in the black shirts?

I'm going to ring Mocom now and have a chat and see if they can assist me.

Cheers! do like my Classic's but wanted a more modern version

I like the wheels that colour but kept my golds incase I didn't, think i've decided I do prefer these so i'll whack the golds up for sale, any idea what price they go for without tyres usually the Gold STI wheels? £150-£250?

Eventually I plan for some 7 or 10 spoke 18's with maybe a slightly lower profile tyre but for now my bank card says 'NO!'

House move on 18th (1st time buyer) so money has gone on Stamp Duty, Solicitors, Sky HD Box, Washing Machine, Tumble Dryer, Big 1080P HD Ready TV for living room and another for the Bedroom, big **** leather corner sofa that seats 8 and all the other bits, so the car has had to take a back-seat for now

I could well be house moving on the 18th so shall have to play it as it comes on that one.

Only problem with a pub meet is I won't want to drive, I also don't trust the better half to drive my car (she's reading this over my shoulder and huffing, actually she just reassured me it was actually a 'burp!' ) and I don't think I could show my face stepping out of a French car

Pub meet without drink... I suppose I could except that providing it has atleast 1 fruit machine for me to raid

Welcome Andy. Well done on the badge & you will soon feel comfortable in pink.

That was us draped over the giant rockery in our TEAM-ESC.CO.UK (Race shirts). Beautifully modelled here by Mike who drives the Time Attack ESC race car.

Hope to see you at an event soon. There are always plenty to choose from every month.
