don't forget that the 350d has been replaced by the 400d. you can get it for not much more money. has sensor cleaning on it too. but it a bit small for a dslr.

i've got the 30d and would highly recommend it. trouble is it's about £800. or you could do it properly and go get a 1d mkIII

Dave_68 is the god of ESC photography, speak to him.

I can't honestly comment on Nikon's as I've never had one. I think that they are both pretty similar though to be fair. Particularly for a beginner.

We can then drag MNeame out for the promised ESC S/net photogeek field trip

good choice. what lenses did you get with it? can't remember if they take the ef and the ef-s lenses or just the ef-s. if the ef i've got a 70 - 300 that you can always borrow before buying one.

comes with ef-s lenses, but i think the ef lenses work, just not in auto focus mode. (i think )

dazza (reading the manual now) - for once!!

ef lenses work fine mate. The ef-s are shorter though

ef-s are designed for the digital canons so you don;t get the 1.6 x crop factor. welcome to borrow the 70 - 300 if you want.
