might be best to not drive it until you know if it's the sensor that's gone or something causing the sensor to react. when you drive it to xtreme, drive off boost as you'll lower the chance of detonation occuring.

well ive been trying extreme but they must be closed, so i rang A.P.I and they asked if it's knocking and just be very careful and get it to a garage. ive just been out to the car. when i started it up the light was on, i sat there listening to the engine for 3 minutes trying to work out if i could hear a slght knock or if i was hearing things!! as i turned the engine off i realised that check engine light had gone surely if there is a code given by the ecu the light wont go out because there most be a problem??? or am i wrong

For the case of £50 max. I'd take it a Mocom or Xtreme for the once over

the problem could be the knock sensor or worse the engine knocking..

if it is knocking enough for the knock sensor to be raising a fault then if you rev the engine to 4000 and lift off you would hear it knock..

So most likely the sensor.. they are easy to swap just fiddly to get to..

well there is no knock and the sensor has stayed off since. just to be on the safe side ive put my chav valve back on for the time being(annoying me already) so the turbo aint spooling up as fast and ive been out in it all day doing my general running around without any problems?? . I will have someone have a look at it next week and get it serviced at the same time.

thanks again for everyone's help
