Yep, that's a Decat downpipe...

looks like it's been coated/painted to give it a black colour, the H&S pipes are just the same though... just silver ish...

Might be worth checking that it's made of SS...

As it may be made of normal steel which may explain the colour...

Not wrong at all mate.
It will be realy really bad for flow covering the wastegate like that.

Not a good buy IMO mate.

In my experience, UHT paint looks good when first applied, but soon flakes off leaving a tatty mess

Stainless steel is made from mild steel and nickel. Nickel is an extremely good conductor of heat and electricity, due to it's properties it's used in electronic IC's (integrated circuits)

You want one with a smooth bellmouth behind the turbo. Ideally with the straight flow exit behind thg turbine wheel and the wastegate side smoothly tapering in. Be carefull as there are plenty out there with really nasty bellmouths that have lumps, welds and excess metal in the gas flow area.

Although this may not seem like much of a flow hinderance. Having anything that disrupts flow that close to the turbine isnt going to help.

Hope that helps

Frayz

If youre not in a rush i may have a full H&S 3" decat system for sale soon

It all wrapped down to the gearbox too.

However this wont be for a few weeks yet.

Cheers for the comments guys.

I quite like the hayward system however its just not user friendly and i need something that is track friendly withou affecting my flow.
I'm going to wait a few weeks until my car is back on the road brakes sorted etc and go and see the guys at Simpson Race Exhausts.

Ive spoken to Matt @ SRE and he might decide to alter my current system to suit. However if i can afford it id like to try an even larger bore system maybe 3.5" or even possibly 4" from the turbo back to lose even more back pressure.

It ultimately comes down to cost so we shall see. If i was able to run an even larger bore system i could have a bigger silencer and reduce the noise and gain or even ratain my current flow levels.

We shall see.
