No more scoob
Guys i'm now scoobyless. I was due to get another one but to keep all happy at home i've ended up with an Astra Coupe. On the plus side it's the, imo, pukka colour - orange and it's the bertone with full leather. On the down side it's a bit slow.
A big thanks to Moley WRX for sorting the insurance out . Took about 30 secs on the phone and it was all done.
I may no longer have a scooby but you guys can't get rid of me i'm afraid.

Well, could be worse.... your new car could've have been a right pile of trash !!
I quite like those Astra Coupes, and in the orange colour..... but sadly they are no match for the Scooby when it comes to speed !!
Look on the bright side... at least all in your life are happy !

Welcome to the club,
I sold my scoob and have replaced it (temporarily) with an Astra Coupe, got the turbo myself so still no slouch although not a match on the scoob for handling.
Mines black with red leather. Not a bad car if I'm honest.
Main thing I miss is the scoob burble.

I think if I changed my Scooby, I would really miss the burble!! The one thing I love when I start her up, and cruise along! Makes heads turn!!

Tiny / Frayz - yup the car was spot on. Was head spinningly fast. It had from what i could tell a great spec. uprated turbo, uprated induction (tbh i'd have changed it to airbox and cold air feed) it'd been converted to run a distibution block and leads rather than coil packs, think it may have had a lightened flywheel and uprated clutch as it revved (sp) so freely. The back end sunk, the front lifted up and it shot off.
Never mind though. There'll always be time for another one. I'll still be around though as you can;t get rid of me that easily

why if you dont mind me asking
do you not get a sport version,
if you miss it so much...
i know of some that are running over 160,
and cost so much less to run and fuel
plus the insurance is cheaper group 14....
stick a vortez on plus a both decats....= flames.....
and the jobs done....

I've got a young son now and to have something a bit more family friendly is already working out for the best. The boot is huge on the astra and i can fit all the shopping in, the buggy, 5 x 2.5 tins of paint, dust sheets and rollers as i found out last night. Plus i'd still have had room to put my subs in there. where as the scooby wouldn't have taken all that in the boot alone.
as much as i think impreza sports are a good compromise, i'd never get one and go for the real thing. just my opinion. i can get the astra to flame too. just get it nice and hot, rev it to about 5k turn the igition off with foot on throttle, take foot off, turn back on when revs have nearly died off and hay presto, flame out the back and nice loud pop

Get a Forester just as much fun as the Scoob but far more practical IMHO
The seats lay completely flat if required and the boot is even big enough for my little puppy (all 6st of him)
Cornering and speed can easily be uprated to suit your taste and I've just discovered that I can even buy a whiteline quick release top mount bar for the boot as well;
I must admit I do still miss the Scoob to a degree but the Forester is so much more of an all round family car.
Plus I get to play the stealth card a lot
