My new website

My new website
Just registered the domain name:
C-A-E.net
I thought it was nice, short and to the point (must say that it was John1uk's idea and not my own as CAE.co.uk, etc was already taken)
(Cornelius Automotive Engineering - in case you were wondering)
It's going to be about modifying cars, what to do, how to do etc, along with a section on how to make your own parts (such as mudflaps and bracket dimensions, make your own flamer kits, induction pipe work, and electronics.
Only thing is, I haven't got a scooby doo on how to design a website, so it's going to be interesting.
Also, once the site is up and running, I'll gladly post links up to other people's sites.

I'm not worried about losing out on money by posting up how to make flamer kits, most people are to scared by electronics to make the circuit themselves, but I'm just giving them the chance to allow them to give it a go.
Also, I've designed a pipe made from sheet metal which does away with the resonator box in the induction side to allow a free air flow to the turbo, but you'll have to brush up on trigonometry to make it
Then there's an automatic intercooler spray system that I designed, but didn't get round to fit as I bought a water injection system instead.
Not only that, I'll be putting on the site, Subaru reccomended Service information, recommended oils, oil quantities etc.
Basically, in short, what I'm hoping to achieve is an easy to use Subaru data site, with FAQ's that often comes up on this site.
I have thought about, and spoke to a few people about starting up my own business working on cars, but it's a scary step to leave a regular job and to hope the venture suceeds, but at the moment, I'm not prepared to take the risk. Though having said that, I'm making up a business plan etc, in case I do decide to go that route and so am ready to see a business advisor.

to start your own business is a big step
leaving a weekly paid job and going it alone takes bottle
you need inteligence and enthusiasm to make it work
i dont see a problem there

I've asked 3 people I can seriously trust regarding starting out on my own, and they all said the same thing as you mate.
At the moment, that first step is too big for me to cross, starting out is the worse part, making sure I can get enough money in to cover expenses etc.
don't want to end up like the original ScoobySport or ScoobyTek

Paul,
If you need a hand mate with graphics etc or general design, give me a shout, more than happy to help where i can.
This is mine - Subaru Impreza CarPC if not a bit on the computer side, does cover other stuff i have done on the Impreza. And as you know this is not my normal field of expertise .
I can assist in getting a basic template on the site. First thing to do is think of a logo though for C-A-E.net .
Regards,
Steve
