Not an event I know, but wanted the opinions of other sufferers of the 'SS' post code.

I'm currently buying my first scooby and obviously need to insure it and just wanted some feedback on whether to get a tracker installed on it, as most of the big insurance companies insist on having one to get insured.

I'm going to speak to the guys at A-plan tomorrow, but wanted to know of your experiences.

Hopefully I'll be at the next halfway house meet

You need to speak to Gary Moulson @ Keith Michaels insurance (02086436006), a lot of the ESC use him now.

It seems more and more insurance companys are now demading tracking systems to be fitted, though when I renewed with A-Plan, as my car has a cat1 alarm and immobiliser, they weren't too bothered about the tracker

Luckily my new #scooby has a tracker fitted, but when I was getting insurance quotes, I was never asked to have one fitted, but to have at least a Cat 2 fitted!!! I'm in the notorious SS post code too!!

p.s I'm with Adrian Flux who have been fab with me! (I used them with my first car too!)
Tesco's admin was cr*p as when I put a private plate on my Pajero it took about 5 calls to get the correct insurance policy and even then when I did, when I went to get tax, the start date said 12/01/05 and the exp date was 12/01/05!!!!

Thanks for the advice ppl

I've since spoken with the guys at A-plan who have beat my original quote by £50 and they were not too fussed about a tracker as long as I have a cat1 alarm and immobiliser

Definately do the above mate

Gary bettered my A-Plan renewal quote by quite some way

Unless you have to don't bother getting a tracker, I needed one for my first year but don't need it any more, thanks to the likes of A-Plan and Keith Michaels. (Neither of which I had heard of untill I had already bought the car and insurance!!)

Wish that was true for me. He couldn't beat a couple of the big names and that's with virtually no mods!

Pity, I was looking forward to saving some cash after all the good reports.

I ended up renewing with Direct Line - although I am in Harlow, not SS!

They just blew everyone else away with their quote.........

Got to be worth you phoning at least!
