Went to the Motor Show today...
First time I'd been to the ExCel place - it's huge!
Took a few piccys, but please forgive the quality - the lights reflecting off all those highly polished cars made it a bit difficult to get many good ones, but these are the best of what I took........
Saw some stuff I had never seen before but security was (rightly) stopping people climbing in and out of the supercars......
Video of one hall (There were two of them)!
Schumacher’s Ferrari
Plato’s Seat
A Gray Thing – Not sure what it was!
An Orange Thing – Not Sure What This was Either!
Nice Merc
McLaren F1 – Couldn’t Miss This One!
Prototype Sports Car from Mazda
Jenson Buttons F1 Car
Jensons Name tag
Gronholm’s Ford
A Ferrari
BMW F1 Car
BMW Race Car
Barabas!!
Aston DB7
Aston DB9
World Speed Record Attempt Car
That's It - others I took turned out too naff...

Hi Mick,
You can get tickets on the door - just watch for the two different entrances - one for ticket holders, the other for non ticket holders.
Both entrances seem to be fairly busy today, so there must be plenty of people turning up without tickets and buying them on the day.

I went yesterday- just turn up!
If you are driving park in car park 1- ignore the signs telling you to fill up car park 4 first (it's miles from the place!)
Saw the above beauties and some lovely ladies helping me with some car facts
By the way the orange car above is a Caparo T1- 'kin fast- 2.5 secs 0-60 if i recall!! Fireblade territory
And the silver one is an Invicta S1- quite fast- 'kin wide!

I was there today as well, I've got to say I was pretty unimpressed with the turn out, I.e: No 'Official' Audi, VW, Scoobs, Mitsubushi, Porsche stands to name but a few. Poor effort with the Trade stands.
I won't even get started with the 1000's of kids and long queues
I spent just under two hours walking around before I left. Hopefully come the 2008 show some more of the car builders may go along

TBH - Not as busy as I thought it would be, but then I got in as it opened at 09.30 and left mid afternoon.
At lunchtime(ish) I did notice that there were quite afew families coming in, so it's all a bit of luck I suppose........

Mine were not valid for the weekend though - only Mon-Fri this week, but at least it meant I went when it wasn't rammed - which is how I see this weekend being!

It was OK, some big names missing, but still some nice cars on display.

Just seen this announcement:
"Visitors flock to London motor show - Visitor attendance at the British International Motor Show at the Excel Centre in London’s Docklands was 23 per cent up on the previous event – held at Birmingham’s NEC in 2004. According to International Motor Industry Events, which organised the show on behalf of the SMMT, numbers were set to have hit 420,000 by the time the exhibition closed on 30 July. By close of play on Friday 28 July attendance had already reached 345,000. SMT chief executive Christopher Macgowan said the decision to move the show to London had been vindicated and predicted building on the success at the same venue in 2008".
What they don't say was how many visitors actually PAID to go in and see it !!!

Me n Deb's went on Saturday. We was there for about 4.5hrs, had a good walk around and checked out a lot of cars, chatted to a few sales reps and took LOTS of pics: http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...orshow%202006/
I personally thought it was a good show inside and outside, plenty going on and the manufacturers showing off their products - some of the stands were amazing (Mazda MX-5 with rain falling down to show off the speed of the convertible) the sound and screens.
The Mini Space invaders game and the 4x4 test track were impressive also.
I thought it was £30 well spent for half a day, we were knackered after all the walking around and as we were coming out there were hoards just coming in.
