What does it sound/feel like when a rear diff goes

Have seen rear diffs for sale for around £200, so hopefully no too bad .

Well prob was rear diff fooked, changed it myself this morning and all back to normal.

Ordered the diff lass than 24 hours ago and its fitted already

Both hubs unatatched from struts and other metal rod like parts

remove both driveshafts, exhaust backbox and centre pipe, remove a couple of plates, disconnect prop shaft from diff, then just undo all bolts that look like they hold it in, refitting reverse of that.

Oh and spill diff oil all over your face as it spills out filler hole

2 hours from start to finish.

I think I might pay over the odds to get that done too,lol.
Good job, I recon your enthusiasm carried you through! You must need a photographic memory to put it all back right or have you got something important lookingleft over?
