Whilst visiting relatives that live on the outskirts of Birmingham last week I was reading the local paper and came across this...

The bit I was most shocked about was...Twenty vehicles were found to be not roadworthy due to a variety of offences, including excessively tinted glass and large exhausts.


OMG, what would happen to half of us Scooby owners that have pretty BIG exhausts if they were to start doing that round here

think you will have to buy an original back box for your car baz as your car is probably the loudest in the crew
or as car clubs have always done stick your fingers up at them pops a flame out as you go passed

Going to go against the flow here. I can kinda see where they are coming from. My car is pretty loud, and a few people have made `joking` comments about it, ie, its too loud!. I like it loud, but I`m not sure when I drive round in built up areas at 2.00am, if they really like it (girlfriends mum really doesn`t). I probably wouldn`t if I wasn`t into cars.

But feel terrible @ 5am Getting it out of the garage on my way to meets , & Then also returning home again late @ night , Just as well that i have very understanding nieghbours , They say that they never really hear it anyway !!

A lot of people don't like excessively loud exhausts, but the more worrying thing is that in the newspaper article the police state that they found that cars were not roadworthy because of the SIZE of the exhaust, nothing to do with the sound coming from it.

bigger the better the police will do any to spoil our fun bloody pains in the *** go nick some real crime. the thing is know day all the coppers are so small and mr muscle looking well they round my way and i think they are fightened of tackeling real crime thay have to pick on the poor little motorist.

It does sound like they have targeted a Chavy group, and the problem the Police might have is if an exhaust pipe or 2/3/4/5/6 pipes are poking out further than the bumper that is a nick.

Im gonna sit on the fence on this one as i see both sides

1, No matter what kind of car/bike your into whether it be chavvy or not, its cool to meet up with like minded people and show off what you have, and have a good look at othere peoples motors.

2, Unfortunatly this usually happens in places where there is food/drink close to hand, i.e pubs/McDonalds, and it is just not fair for the owners of the chosen premises to loose trade because of it.
