I was still finding "hidden" mods on my car after about 6 months.

Any mapper should be able to tell you whether it's been mapped or not.

Looking at the ecu and stick it on a rr will tell you if it's been modified

With a tactix cable and some software you can read the rom and compare it to a standard rom.

Mine was sold as being mapped to around 277 bhp with rr print out. It had the supporting mods but the boost was standard.

Comparing the rom showed it was standard. Looking at the ecu looked like it had swapped out before sale.

Depends on the Model Year, a tactrix cable won't work on a classic for example.

If you are buying a car with a claimed BHP you need to meet the seller at a RR to have it confirmed. Let's face it a car with 600 BHP is worth a lot more than one with 400 BHP. Its like selling fake designer gear.

Hi mate , welcome to the site.

I would take it to a reputable Subaru mechanic or mapper and let them run a eye over the car. Maybe start a thread asking for who is recommended in your area.

Hi mate , welcome to the site.

Firstly , you'd be best starting a thread of your own as it'll get more views.
Secondly , I suggest not using "txt speak" on here as is doesn't go down well
