PPC ECU Plugged in
Hi All,
Well after considering selling the car I've decided to keep it and modestly mod it. I've been considering ecutec or swapping to an ecu that will allow open source mapping but, the costs are quite high to do this month.
Then I came across a v5 PPP ECU on eBay and it got me thinking that maybe, this would be a good put on as, I have a decat and the ppp will just bolt straight in. The Papp ecu arrived today at 1pm and took 10 minutes to install, no messing, immobiliser works without programming and the car ticks along fine. Then it was test drive time. I was expecting very modest gains to be honest but, it's made a HUGE difference. There is so much more power and torque. I live just outside the Peak District and have been driving round it with a huge smile on my face.
Having not had experience with ecutec or driven a mapped impreza I can't compare then but, if you are looking for a cheap ecu update, the ppp is a good place to start - in my opinion.
All in all, a good day
Cheers
Craig

Hi Mate,
Can't recommend it enough mate. For me it's a good stop gap in between an open source ecu etc.
Be carful you don't get stung with a falsely advertised ecu though. There was a bloke on eBay saying "rare prodrive sti ecu" but, when unchecked the serial number it was a standar prodrive ecu plus - from the info I've found you can't plug an sti ecu into a standard car as it doesn't have the supporting mods.
Go buy one mate, they are ace
