Default ECU Remapping Help Needed..

Now then!

I have just bought an X reg 2000 Turbo and was wondering how I could go about remapping it. Firstly for fuel economy and secondly for performance. I'm not sure if both of these criteria can be met with a remap. I think the ECU is a Y7. The car is totally standard with the exception of a scorpion stainless exhaust and a green panel filter.

What are my options?

I'm from Middlesbrough and somewhere relatively local would be ideal. Can anyone recommend anywhere?

Cheers..

^^^^^

It's not that uncommon, remap gives better economy AND more power due to the standard map being so rich.

Wondered if you lads had heard of www.eclipse-performance.com in Sunderland or knew of anyone who'd had any work done there. Was thinking of going up there myself to have some upgrades done.

Just spent the last hour reading up on all the comments, good and bad. Bit of an eye opener to be honest.

I have just pm, jollygreenmonster to see if he can do a few of us in one day and a price for the remap. Will let you know if he gets back to me, others on nesf are also looking for remap so hopefully will be able to sort something out.
Cheers
