Little confused???
Allo chaps wonder if anyone could shed some light on this for me????
Ok, I have been looking into getting my car remapped. For those who don't know my car is a 98 UK turbo 2000. I understand the 98 ecu's cannot be remapped using Ecutek but can be done using Esl. I understand that much but here's where I am a little confused
I was reading on here about ecu resetting and how you connect different connectors together, count the flashes on the dash yada yada you all know the drill lol but, when I was fitting my boost guage earlier I noticed my car seems to have the obd 2 socket under the dash. (16 pin socket)
Now, I have been reading up and found that 98 was a change over year. Does this mean that my car could have the 99 ecu that can infact use the Ecutek method?
hoping someone could shed some light on this as I can't seem to find much info about this?
Cheers fella's

Thanks for your reply. That's cleared that up lol. How much roughly for the ESL map roughly?? The previous owner did say the car had been remapped by the owner before him although no evidence of this which is why I'm enquiring about it. If he did then the ecu would have to be after market or maybe even ppp?? How can I tell which ecu I have?
