6s Ecu to 8s ecu
Evening all
looking for some advice if possible if it’s possible to change a classic jap 97 import from a 6s ecu to a 8s ecu, long story short my car has been in various garages for over two years with a maf Sensor warning appearing on the dash board and finally after some extensive looking into believe it’s the ecu that has gone corrupt, I bout a zero sport mapped 6s ecu which cured the maf sensor warning light however the car will not ideal with the mapped 6s ecu and I don’t want to keep it on there because I believe the mapping runs a higher octane fuel and other unknown mapping options, I am running out of ideas on where to go here in reference to ecu,s, I don’t want to go down the aftermarket link g4 or alyteck ecus as since the car is over twenty years old just want it to run with some boost
i can only think of changing the 6s ecu to a 8s ecu via a pin out as a standard 6s ecu are very hard to source
Any advice is much appreciated

If you have an 6s or 8s ecu check your maf. Carefully cut the lid off and check for dry solder joints on the circuit board and re solder, I'd be 99% sure that's your problem.
Plus the Zero sport ecu would be very wicked for UK fuel.
I probably have a 6s ecu here if that doesn't cure your problem.
