Default secondary air pump removal advice

Hi all,

the dreaded secondary air pump fault has bitten me.. I know they can be removed and mapped out (I can map out have a Tactrix)
but what is the best way to go about it removing it? Blanking plates on the block or just cap the pipes off and unplug it?

I have read that fitting the blanking plates is a nightmare on the drivers side? anyone back that up?

many thanks,

Blanking plates on mine with pump and all pipework removed. Solenoids left in place.

Driverside one is very tight but can be accessed from above using a small spanner cut and it'll involve scraped wrists!

Got the blanking plates and gaskets from eBay USA for about 30 delivered

Mine also has everything removed and blanking plates , mine was done with the engine out as I had a couple of other things to do aswell ,, I copied the ends of the pipe work with a bit of alloy plate and used that to blank it off

So will I need to remove the turbo or anything, or just the intercooler?
Can I ask why you left the solenoids in place? Any reason or just hard to get off?

Thanks,
