Default Good Remapper in East Sussex?

2001 WRX UK 300
Prodrive Pack, dyno readout of 245hp
New API engine 30,000 miles ago.
Totally stock.

Goes well!

I don't fancy fitting any mods so was wondering what a safe remap could be and whether it's worth doing or not.

I've been advised about 280bhp but would I notice the extra 40?

(Not into top speed, just B-road driving).

I'm in East Grinstead, East Sussex.

cheers.

Best to speak to Simon roe Aka jolly green monster on here, He's based in kent but is mobile , A very good mapper and he knows his stuff , He probably would advise a Ecutek software map but best to speak to him and would think at 280 hp on a newage wrx you might have to change the up pipe

Have spoken to Simon and the cost is £660 for the map for approx 40hp more and more torque.

I was expecting more like £250.

(Not knocking him, his service, his genius etc etc as I may well use him, but I'll have to save up.)

Out of interest, and I know NOTHING about remaps, do I need 'the best mapper in the UK for Imprezas', given that my driving is mostly B-roads for fun at the weekends?

What makes somebody the best mapper? Lots of websites seem to claim this with client testimonials.

Well u pay for what u get , I used Simon because I knew that he would get the most out if what I've got without blowing it up or running it right on it's limit , just google mapping horror story or problems after mapping u won't find any that include Simon , or Andy forest etc cause there so knowledgable and so experienced , it's quiet simple if u want the most out of what you have and you want it done right use the right people .

Don't get me wrong all mappers have had failures and I bet a lot of it is just purely mechanical , any idiot can wack the boost up and say it's mapped .

I have just decided to use JGM as my P1 has had running problems and many things replaced, latest being new 550 injectors instead of the stock 440s.
Car is def over fuelling and just want this car sorted, so will be paying more than expected to have it remapped on rolling road with Simon on 18th.
I hope it will be £650 well spent.

There are only a handful of mappers in the UK who can do a decent job of mapping an impreza safely whilst getting good results, and Simon is one of the few. ECUTec is expensive due to the licence fee, but there is OS mapping like Carberry which is cheaper, I'm not sure if Simon does it but I'd ask him.

Thanks again.

I had my Merc mapped a while ago from 205bhp up to 245bhp, and while it felt smoother it wasn't WOW this is quick.

Is it different in an Impreza? 40 bhp doesn't sound like much for what you have to pay.

40hp on a 2ton merc isnt going to be exciting or 40ftlb.
40ftlb and 40hp in a 1300kg impreza you will notice for sure, along with throttle response improvements and better mpg.

Simon.
