Default Gearbox help.

My mate has just fitted a new box after stripping 2nd gear.

The box and diff are in and fitted as are a new clutch and clutch release bearing.

I helped put the box back in after they forgot the release bearing and then dropped the box onto my mates hand, putting the mount stud through his middle finger severing his tendons lol.

The box selects gears when the engine is off.
When the engine is running the gears cannot be selected.
When started in gear and clutch down, it will drive and go into gear but is VERY HARD.

Any ideas on what it could be??

My idea is to check the slave on the top of the lever, and if thats bled ok, then to put the release bearing back in as it may not be in all the way.

sorry to hear your mate got injured, the clutch is dragging,as you said its possibly air and worth a rebleed first.
or possibly the release bearing is not latched in the pressure plate properly ?

Lol yeah the stud from the centre mount under the box went straight through his finger, now his tendons are back on after having to fish them out of his hand/arm. Now wears a pooper scooper on his hand to stop it extending lol.

But I`m going for release bearing not latched on. Will check everything. But this time engine is coming out rather than box lol.
