Default New gearbox probs

Hi. guys.. Bought a recon box from a reputable supplier.. Finally got round to fitting it.. All drives fine except i have a nasty grumble when off throttle which goes if you dip the clutch. I have noticed theres quite a bit of of play in the front driveshafts at the gearbox sides.. Is this my front diff knackered already? Bit confused really as its done less than a tank of fuel, and ive certainly not been driving it hard.. Any help much appreciated

My exedy clutch Lateral flywheel is noisy as **** on overrun and was fine before. May well be a box problem but the fact that it's on overun and disappears when you dip the clutch suggests it's not necessarily so

Have to say that when I was running standard setup I didn't suffer any noise but now with a light weight flywheel and uprated clutch I get a lot more transmission noise especially on overrun and have been told its quite normal to hear it with light weight flywheel/uprated clutches.

Not so sure as that doesnt explain the play in the front driveshafts.. or is this normal? .. There is no play in the rear ones.. Its an awful noise it makes. kinda like marbles in a tin can being shaken about.. Where abouts you from ?

Yeah it does...and this is the clutch? sometimes its noisier than others. but that kinda noise. So i shouldnt be worrying about the play in the driveshafts?

Can't comment on the driveshafts as I have no experience, but that noise is clutch and flywheel related. I have a 4.4kg flywheel in my 95 WRX with a standard exedy and it's fine. I have a Pinkbox Uprated exedy and it's noisy as **** with my 6.3kg lateral flywheel.

I think it's the exedy.

No probs, you'll know if the box is goosed as it will whine and rattle regardless of clutch operation

LOL quite a surprise when it makes a massive bang and suddenly where 3rd used to be is another neutral, with revs bouncing off limiter
