Where's my fuel system/pump?
#1
Can anyone confirm my queries? I have a MY99 STI Type-R and am trying to trace the fuel system. I have been under the car and if I'm right the fuel suction line appears to come from two tanks and join one main line. Is this right? Also can anyone confirm if my fuel pump is sited next to the front drivers side headlight?
Cheers,
Craig.

Craig,
The pump is actually mounted inside the fuel tank. Access is via the cover on the back, righthand side of the boot.

Firstly, there's only one fuel tank. It has to make way for the propshaft, so it looks like 2 saddlebags on either side.
Fuel pump is in the fuel tank. Right-side, access from the boot just behind the rear seat back.
The left-side access panel is for the left fuel float.
The suction line you see from the left side actually is for scooping the fuel from the left "saddlebag" to dump it back into the right one - cos thats where the pump is.
The thing you see by your headlight is the fuel filter I suppose. I'm guessing here as I can't see your car (obviously!). Any pics?
Hope this helps.

The fuel filter is mounted by the nearside suspension turret. If you mean the black plastic can, it's a carbon filter for fuel vapour, I think.
